PROJECT: East Roughlea Farm

Description: This project involved construction of a worker’s dwelling for a retiring farmer, in the County Durham area. The dwelling replaced an existing outbuilding that was used for domestic storage and used the same footprint as the outbuilding. The new build property allows the farmer to stay on the farm he and his family have ran for decades. The new dwelling provided a three-bedroom property with open plan living space and master bedroom to the ground floor. The first floor has two guest bedrooms and a family bathroom. The style and materials used for the construction complemented the existing farmhouse, which was then occupied by the retiring farmer’s family.
