Description: The project is a six plot, new build residential development in Toronto, but only five are being constructed until the client’s children need their own house and this approval has been implemented and therefore extant. The project required a Change of Use from Agriculture to Residential. There are three house types with one house type being modified several times to the requirement of each self-build occupier. Each plot size was maximised by utilising the roof to create master bedrooms. Traditional construction materials were used to complement the surrounding area that is mainly stone and slate dwellings with sash windows, however, the natural light was maximised with a twist to the fenestration to each of the properties with large fenestration areas to the front elevations and bi-fold doors to the rear of the properties.
